Arji Manuelpillai

Spoken Word Artist & Theatre Practitioner

Arji Manuelpillai is a poet, writer and creative practitioner based in London. He has worked nationally and internationally with vulnerable children, young people and adults for over 15 years. For the last 12 years Arji has worked extensively with young refugee and asylum seekers. This has been in immigration removal centres across the UK, in refugee camps in in this country and abroad, as well as regularly with BRIGHTER FUTURES. A group advocating for change for young migrants. He has also worked with Kazzum Arts on their refugee week for outreach program which travels extensively to educate people about the facts concerning refugee and asylum seeker communities. Within the last year, Arji was funded by The Finnish Institute to create 6 podcasts called ‘WORKING WITH MIGRANTS' that investigated practise and ethics across the sector.
